I wanted to start by saying thank you for taking the time to read what I think is important.
I usually have so much to say, but this has been one of the hardest things for me to do. Anyone that knows me, knows I love to talk. I am very opinionated and tend to over share if I'm comfortable around you. However, when I made the decision to write about myself, I realized, it's not easy.
After a lot of thought and self-reflection I decided to write about something I know a lot about
"kids", after all they are my professional expertise!
Childcare in its entirety is how I have built my business, and it will most definitely be a topic I share with all of you through my writing.
My experiences have shaped me into who I am.
I hope all of you take the time to read my blog but keep in mind what I share is based on my life experiences and personal opinions. You can take it or leave it. I learned a long time ago not everyone will agree with others. And that's okay.
I am a 51-year-old business owner; I've ran my own daycare business for 30 years this February. While daycare has its challenges, I have always believed the rewards outweigh the difficulties.
The love I get from someone else's child is absolutely amazing. The excitement after coming back from the weekend or just overnight coming in the next morning to yell "Nae Nae, I'm here!" It truly is one of the sweetest things.
The excitement these children get from learning a new thing is priceless. Every child in my care gets excited to see their friends and we treat each other like family. I am grateful for my parents, for sharing their children with me.
When you learn to look at children from where they are and how they express themselves, you realize they love BIG and it's unconditional. We could all learn a little something from each one of these tiny little humans.
I know am blessed to have chosen a career that has given me more than I ever thought possible. I hope the parents I have served and the children I have taken care of over the years know how much I truly appreciate them. I feel honored when I receive graduation and wedding announcements from past kids. I love that they still want to share their children with me after they are grown.
In the past 30 years parenting has changed and I don't know that I can say it's all been for the better. I can definitely see there are parents who are very much involved in their kid's lives. Most are doing their best to live life and provide for their families. While parenting is rewarding it is also very hard. Parenting doesn't come with a manual or a how-to-guide. I have learned to step back and remember when you're in the thick of it all, show yourselves a little Grace.
I plan to share tips on parenting, potty training, nap time, crafts, age-appropriate toys, as well as the ins and outs of "Nae Nae" Preschool."
There comes a time in your life when you realize that.
When you realize that God has given you a gift- share it! Give that gift in order to help and guide others; this is what life is all about!
For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
